We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Band 4 Therapy Assistant to work within the Stroke Therapy Team at University Hospitals Dorset.
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate individual to join our Stroke Therapy team. You will work closely with Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech and Language Therapists to support the assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation of people following stroke.
Key Responsibilities
* Work alongside therapists in assessing and rehabilitating stroke patients
* Organisation and coordination of therapy groups
* Support qualified therapists in discharge processes such as access visits
* Administrative responsibilities to support the qualified therapists
Qualifications and Requirements
* Previous experience of working with stroke patients, in an acute hospital or community setting
* Foundation Degree in health or assistant practitioner qualification equivalent
* 7 day working; expected to participate in weekend rotas
* Competency level required to be achieved with support and training provided
* Structured in‑house training programme and supportive team of clinical staff
* Car driver with a full driving licence and own vehicle (preferred for assessing patients in their home environment)
