Join Our Team as a Chartered Psychologist!

Position: Chartered Clinical, Counselling or Forensic Psychologist

Location: Mental Health Treatment Requirement, Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland (LLR)

Hours: 22.5 hours per week

Contract: Maternity cover – 12 months fixed term from January 2026

We are currently seeking a passionate Chartered Psychologist to join our newly formed Mental Health Treatment Requirement (MHTR) team, dedicated to delivering impactful psycho-social interventions.

This innovative service offers individuals in the criminal justice system an alternative to custodial sentences, focusing on personalized treatment plans that draw from evidence-based interventions. Join us in making a difference!


Your Role and Responsibilities

As a key member of our team, you will:

* Provide clinical guidance, training, and leadership to Senior Assistant and Assistant Psychologists.
* Collaborate closely with the Clinical Lead and Consultant Clinical Psychologist to enhance innovative approaches.
* Oversee the systematic governance of the Leicestershire MHTR service alongside operational colleagues.
* Offer practical advice on evidence-based psychological interventions to colleagues and local agencies.
* Inspire and develop your team, fostering psychological formulation skills and a trauma-informed approach.
* Manage a small caseload of service users with complex needs, delivering specialist assessments and therapies.
* Contribute to the strategic direction of the service, building professional links with other providers.
* Explore ways to integrate broader issues like housing and employment into treatment processes.
* Collaborate with our national team to enhance psychological and psycho-social approaches across services.


Are You the Ideal Candidate?

We are looking for someone who:

* Holds a doctorate in Clinical, Counselling, or Forensic Psychology and is registered with the Health and Social Professions Council (HCPC).
* Has proven experience in delivering psychological services and leading clinical staff.
* Possesses excellent communication skills and a commitment to the Recovery Agenda.
* Experience with substance misuse service users is a plus, and formal training in supervision is desirable.
