As it moves into its next chapter and becomes established as a UK‑registered charity, it is strengthening governance by expanding the Board of Trustees. This is a pivotal moment in EDGA’s development, and it wants to ensure it has the right blend of skills, experience, and lived perspectives to guide the organisation through this transition and into the future.
EDGA is therefore seeking new Trustees who can help build a resilient, ambitious, and inclusive charity - one that can achieve its mission, uphold strong governance, and create meaningful impact for golfers with disabilities.
EDGA is specifically seeking Trustees with expertise in:
· Finance (charity finance, financial strategy, risk, audit)
· Income generation & fundraising (corporate partnerships, philanthropy, trusts & foundations, commercial income)
· UK charity experience (governance, legal, compliance, safeguarding, charity law)
Trustees will play a vital role in ensuring the charity is well governed, financially sustainable, and delivering meaningful impact.
Specialist Roles x3
1. Trustee – Finance
Ideal for: qualified accountants, finance directors, charity finance professionals
Key strengths sought:
·Financial strategy and oversight
·Management accounts, budgeting, reserves
·Risk management and audit
·Understanding of charity SORP (desirable)
2. Trustee – Income Generation & Fundraising
Ideal for: fundraising leaders, commercial partnership specialists, philanthropy professionals

·Fundraising strategy and diversification
·Corporate partnerships and sponsorship
·Trusts & foundations
·Donor stewardship and relationship building
3. Trustee – Charity Governance / Legal
Ideal for: charity governance specialists, lawyers, compliance professionals

Core Responsibilities
·Provide strategic leadership and oversight
·Ensure financial stability and effective risk management
·Uphold the charity’s mission, values, and legal obligations
·Support and challenge the new Executive Director & paid workforce
·Approve budgets, plans, and major decisions
·Act as an ambassador for the charity
Time Commitment
·4–6 Board meetings per year (meetings are currently run online)
·Attendance at relevant subcommittee meetings (run online)
·Attendance at key events where possible
·Approx. 1–2 days per month
Term of Office
·Three-year term, re-appointable up to three times
