The Opportunity
They are looking for a Managing Consultant to join their team and work directly with their MD and founder, who brings 20 years of construction industry experience. This leadership role gives the candidate the chance to help grow their business while building and overseeing a team and working with their established and focused client base.
As a Managing Consultant, the candidate will balance their own desk responsibilities with team leadership duties. They'll grow and manage a diverse team of resourcers, consultants, and senior consultants while handling the full recruitment process, building strategic relationships with clients and candidates, and ensuring their developed team meets its performance goals. This dual focus requires excellent people management skills alongside strong recruitment expertise.
Being part of their growing company means the position will naturally develop over time. There's a clear path for progression to divisional and director-level roles. Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates should have significant experience as a Senior Consultant with team leadership responsibilities or be ready to step up into a management position. They will have a proven track record in recruitment, whether their focus has been on permanent, temporary, or contract placements. Experience in construction recruitment is also required. The successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running within their area of sector expertise and be capable of building and developing their desk independently, without the need for immediate training and ongoing support.
Being self-motivated, an effective coach, and able to manage both their time and a team's priorities are essential skills for this position. They should also demonstrate strong leadership abilities to inspire and develop others, excellent negotiation skills, and the capacity to perform under pressure to meet team targets and deadlines.
