Morson are currently looking for Avionic Technicians for RAF Coningsby. Please find the details below for the role.
Responsibilities
* Undertake and complete maintenance and diagnostic activities on aircraft or components, including Aircraft Ground Handling, flight servicing, aircraft role changes, AD embodiments, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and/or functional/system tests.
* Review operational performance of aircraft components and systems.
* Analyse and diagnose faults to components and assemblies, apply diagnostic skills to effect repairs or modify equipment or procedures, and suggest improvements to procedures.
* Ensure maintenance is undertaken to schedule and resolve issues, escalating as required.
* Maintain a flexible and proactive attitude, carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and taking direction appropriately.
* Maintain personal task competencies for working on aircraft or components.
* Undertake support tasks within the Aircraft or component maintenance facility to maintain compliance with MOE and Functionally Mandated procedures (e.g., oversight checks, control of tooling/test equipment).
* Receive On The Job training activities and maintain a personal Log Book for currency and recency.
* Possess broad and in-depth product knowledge within own technical/subject area, and be aware of how the team integrates with others to achieve objectives.
* Ensure personal compliance with risk assessments, SHE policies and procedures.
* If approved as a designated assessor, undertake OJT activities and be qualified by undertaking an OJT Training and Assessor course or acceptable equivalence (referenced in PROQ30718).
* Where applicable, sign for own work in line with licensing requirements (BAE Systems licensed work, ADS authorisations, and related procedures).
* Undertake specific activities in line with authorities granted by the Maintenance Manager.
Qualifications and Experience
* Typically 3+ years experience, fully competent with all required authorities in place, and able to demonstrate breadth of systems experience with currency and recency via a Log Book (electronic or paper).
* Knowledge of Functionally Mandated Procedures.
* Awareness of how the team integrates with others to achieve objectives and the application of continuous improvement.
* Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering, or Military equivalent apprenticeship/qualifications.
* Academic qualification: City & Guilds 2675 or 2661 in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent.
* Aircraft platform training (on-aircraft requirement).
Working Hours
* On base, 5 days per week (Mon-Fri) around site core hours (7:30am–4:30pm Mon-Thu, 7:30am–12:00pm Fri). 37 hours per week (lunch 30 minutes between 12:30–13:00, deducted by time management system).
* Shift options may include Nights (16:00–02:00) or Day shifts depending on workload, on a 6-month contract initially.
