The Merchandiser is a motivated and
pro-active member of the Merchandising team reporting to the Senior
Merchandiser. They will support the Senior Merchandiser & Head of Buying
& Merchandising, with supervisor responsibilities to the Merch Admin team
with progression to line management.
They will work alongside the Branch
Merchandiser to bring a coherent strategy across product & channels.
The Merchandiser is involved with the
future planning & budgeting of the business, reviewing product insights to
support future forecasts. They will be involved in Key meetings including Seasonal
Strategy meetings, Range building, Sign offs & Trading meetings, covering
multiple seasons at a time.
You will have excellent written and
oral communication skills, show ability and aptitude in retail maths and be
able to demonstrate a pro-active approach to business and systems management. An
awareness
of the Saltrock Brand & Customer is crucial to understanding how we stock
our stores.
Key responsibilities:
1.
Range
building - Assisting the Senior Merchandiser & working with the Buying
& Design teams to ensure a clear product range is planned, considering
historic data & current trading trends.
2.
Ensuring
the Buying & Design teams have all the data and analysis they require to
understand performance of the business, best & worst sellers.
3.
Align
with the Critical Path and ensure Merchandising tasks are completed.
4.
Working
with the Buying team & Senior Merchandiser to manage capacity &
production planning for the Supply base in line with budget.
5.
Be
up to date with all Goods in & understand when the stock is coming into our
DC.
6.
Understanding
& assisting the Senior Merchandiser with the performance of product to
ensure right stock is maintained to ensure sales budgets are met; including the
clearing down of old, poor performing & fragmented stock.
7.
Inputting
into the production of the Monday Trade pack, analysing the trade performance
of the previous week and reporting findings to the Merchandiser and with
suggested trading actions
8.
Work
with the Marketing & Buying teams to ensure they know when options are
coming into the business for VM, Photo shoots and any other Adhoc information
as required.
9.
Support
the training & progression of our merch admin team members to ensure
confidence & accountability is built in the team.
10.
Communicate
as required with Futura ensuring we are using the system as best we can for the
business
11.
Adhoc
analysis as required by the Senior Merchandiser
