Purpose of the Role This role provides senior leadership across both the Project Management Office (PMO) and estates/property portfolio, ensuring projects are governed effectively, delivered on time, and aligned with wider commercial and strategic objectives. Key Responsibilities Lead the PMO function, establishing frameworks, reporting standards, governance processes, and KPIs. Oversee estates and capital projects, working with facilities and estates leads to ensure efficient and safe delivery. Manage the full project portfolio, balancing operational and property initiatives, optimising resources and timelines. Monitor and report on ROI, milestones, risks, and progress, providing clear insights to senior leadership and the Board. Lead and inspire teams, managing the PMO directly and working with estates/project teams in a matrix structure. Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and financial standards. Drive continuous improvement, embedding a culture of innovation and change across the organisation. Standard Responsibilities Participate in the annual performance review and development process. Qualifications and Experience Essential Significant experience leading a PMO across complex, multi-project environments. Strong background in estates/property project delivery (capital projects, facilities, or multi-site builds). Commercially astute, with a data-driven approach to governance and decision-making. Experience of presenting to and influencing at Board level. Proven ability to lead and motivate both direct reports and cross-functional teams. Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, Agile) and tools for planning, scheduling, and execution. Desirable Experience in large-scale, regulated, multi-site organisations. Ability to foster a collaborative working environment and set clear performance expectations.
