The role can be based near Hertford or Cheltenham, with a commute of 30-60 minutes. It is onsite (5 days office based), Monday‑Friday, 37.5 hours per week. You must be able to obtain DV clearance and have lived in the UK for 10+ years.
Responsibilities
* Design, build, develop, integrate, test and maintain IT infrastructure to provide a robust customer on‑premise platform.
* Identify and implement design changes, improvements and updates required to keep products within supportability lifecycles.
* Utilise experience in physical and virtual host infrastructures to ensure a resilient platform for hosted applications.
* Produce high and low level design documentation and build guides.
* Execute against the project technical roadmap and delivery plan.
* Undertake self‑development to broaden knowledge in new technologies outside current skillsets.
Qualifications & Experience
* Hands‑on experience in designing, building, developing, integrating, testing and maintaining IT infrastructure.
* Implementation of hardware and operating systems to hardened build standards, and use of vulnerability and compliance scanning tools.
* VMware infrastructure design, implementation and deployment skills.
* Advanced knowledge of Windows Server & Desktop, including specification, operating system builds, deployment toolsets (MDT, SCCM), OS version uplifts and migration.
* Experience with SAN storage solutions and networking.
* IP network design including Juniper and Cisco configuration.
* Experience with advanced Microsoft Active Directory, including Group Policy definition and deployment, OS and application integration.
* Integration with monitoring, patch update and anti‑virus systems.
* PKI infrastructure design, build and deployment.
* MS SQL database skills, including design, deployment, high availability and version migration.
* Ability to perform SAN storage implementation, configuration and systems upgrade.
* Experience building and deploying network and infrastructure management and monitoring tools with strong knowledge of SNMP, syslog & IP networking, and OS and network troubleshooting skills.
