Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a passion for accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement? Ageas UK is seeking a dedicated and analytical individual to join our Finance team. You will play a key role in supporting the monthly close process, preparing financial statements, and ensuring timely and accurate reporting across our UK entities. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to our core reporting requirements and support key strategic projects.
Main Responsibilities as Accountant:
1. Support the control and delivery of the monthly close process for Ageas UK entities, ensuring accurate transaction recording and valid balance sheet entries.
2. Provide timely and accurate reporting and reconciliation of the consolidated IFRS balance sheet to Group and senior management monthly.
3. Prepare first-level financial information for various stakeholders within the UK group.
4. Ensure compliance with internal and external tax requirements across all business taxes (excluding payroll).
5. Assist in preparing the annual financial statements, liaising with external auditors and internal reviews.
6. Review monthly close processes and procedures to identify operational improvements and update controls accordingly.
7. Support the team with ad hoc queries, projects, and knowledge development.
8. Build effective relationships with internal stakeholders, including Actuarial, Underwriting, Payroll, and other Finance departments.
Skills and Experience Needed:
1. Qualified or part-qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA).
2. Understanding of technical accounting principles and their application.
3. Proficient in Excel.
4. Experience with Oracle E1 (general ledger) and IBM Cognos TM1 (reporting) is desirable.
5. Excellent attention to detail and commitment to high-quality outputs.
6. Strong numerical skills with the ability to interpret and resolve financial data inconsistencies.
7. Good organizational and planning skills, with the ability to prioritize workflows.
