About the Role
In Sam’s, we operate a 4-day on, 3-day off rota system.
Your responsibilities include setting up and preparing menu items for your section, ready for food service, and preparing food in advance for the upcoming week. You may also be expected to take ownership of the kitchen in the absence of the kitchen management team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Cooking and delivering beautifully crafted food using the best ingredients sourced from local suppliers.
2. Understanding the importance of allergens and dietary safety within your kitchen.
3. Responsibility for all temperature logging for hot items and refrigerators to ensure full compliance.
4. Running a section of the kitchen throughout busy service times and supporting your teammates to ensure fast and accurate delivery.
5. Clearing and cleaning your section and other areas of the kitchen to maintain compliance.
6. Understanding of COSHH and HACCP regarding food storage.
7. Working towards guidelines of portion control, including weights and measurements, and logging all wastage for more accurate GP %.
About You
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Chef de Partie and possess excellent communication and presentation skills.
You will also be:
* Passionate about food and working with seasonal ingredients.
* Standards-driven, with a great eye for detail.
* Experienced in taking ownership of your section and working towards portion control guidelines, including weights and measurements, and logging wastage for more accurate GP %.
* Able to develop strong relationships with your team and colleagues.
* Proficient in understanding COSHH and HACCP for food storage.
