York Delivery Pharmacy is a growing online pharmacy based in York, serving the residents of York and beyond. As a fairly new and ambitious business, we provide both NHS and private pharmacy services with a strong focus on patient safety, clinical excellence, and innovation in digital healthcare delivery.
We are looking for a motivated and clinically driven Pharmacist to join our expanding team and help shape the future of our service.
The Role
As the Responsible Pharmacist, you will ensure the pharmacy operates safely, legally, and ethically in compliance with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) standards. You will provide clinical and professional leadership, maintain high standards of governance, and support the continued growth and development of our online services.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) standards and all relevant legislation.
* Ensure you and the team work strictly within Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
* Lead on clinical governance, risk management, and continuous quality improvement.
* Provide clinical and professional leadership to the pharmacy team.
* Ensure the safe supply and dispensing of medications, including via PGDs, NHS services (where applicable), private services, and remote consultations.
* Maintain compliance with data protection regulations, including UK GDPR, and uphold patient confidentiality at all times.
* Maintain your GPhC registration and ensure all pharmacy staff meet their professional and regulatory obligations.
* Support service development and contribute to the growth of the business.
Essential Requirements
* Registered Pharmacist with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
* Strong understanding of NHS and private pharmacy services.
* Excellent knowledge of clinical governance and regulatory compliance.
* Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
* Right to work in the UK (sponsorship is not available)
Desirable
* Independent Prescriber qualification.
* Experience in online or distance-selling pharmacy.
* Experience delivering NHS services and working with Patient Group Directions (PGDs).
