Answer telephones, taking and forwarding messages, ensuring that all telephone callers receive a prompt, courteous, non-judgmental, and well-informed response. Respond to queries, dealing with routine matters and passing more complex queries to the appropriate staff. Provide administrative support, including correspondence on behalf of the manager and team, maintaining high standards in accordance with Trust standards. Assist in running an efficient system, handling routine referrals, and distributing them to the appropriate clinical team. Monitor and maintain stock supplies for the team. Operate in line with Trust policies regarding health records and act as an advocate for services by responding accurately to inquiries related to service provision.
The postholder will have access to vulnerable people and must undergo a Disclosure and Barring Service check, in accordance with relevant legislation. They will support the Lymphoedema, Lower Limb, and Tissue Viability services, ensuring a confidential and efficient service. The role is based at the Acorn Centre but requires flexibility to cover other Pennine sites and provide cover during planned or unplanned leave. The candidate should have a good educational background with qualifications in English and Maths, and excellent computer skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team is essential.
Minimum requirements include GCSEs (Grades 4-9) in Mathematics and English or equivalent, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Desirable criteria include experience with EMIS and knowledge of referral and booking systems.
