A specialist SEN primary school in Crawley is recruiting for Behaviour Mentors to work with children with a range of complex needs, including autism, global developmental delay, and sensory impairments. Many pupils also require emotional and behavioural support to manage transitions and daily routines.
The Role:
* Support pupils in class, in therapy sessions, and during play
* Use behaviour support plans and de-escalation strategies effectively
* Foster strong relationships to help build trust and emotional safety
* Help develop communication through visuals, Makaton or AAC tools
The Ideal Candidate:
* Background in SEN, primary education, care work or early years
* Knowledge of positive behaviour support and communication strategies
* Ability to remain calm and nurturing under pressure
* Passionate about inclusion and supporting children with complex needs
