Role
The Physical Security Project Manager will work closely with the Programme Manager and Head of Corporate & Physical Risk on the DD&T Separation programme and its security projects. The role involves transitioning multiple physical security work streams to achieve their deliverables, goals, and outcomes, providing vital project management skills and insights.
As a project manager, you will collaborate with physical security teams, the wider business, third-party suppliers, government services, and programme stakeholders to understand their business, services, technology requirements, processes, and procedures. You will act as an interface between the business programme and the physical security work streams such as Access Control, SCC, Threat Intelligence, Reporting, Maintenance, etc.
Managing relationships with the business and programme stakeholders is crucial for delivering our physical security infrastructure strategy. Your responsibilities include implementing new solutions, driving operational effectiveness, leading procurement, and providing guidance to enhance transition deliverables. You will oversee the day-to-day management and stakeholder relationships to maximize value delivery.
The role involves managing the separation and transition of physical security products and services from a centralised function to a new organisation. You will align multiple teams to identify requirements, forecast resources, and plan to meet milestones. Ensuring the design and implementation of technology solutions, operational procedures, and physical infrastructure is key. You will also manage the procurement process from RFP to contract award.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Lead projects from requirements definition through closure, including scope, schedule, and risk mitigation.
2. Drive project deliverables to completion while maintaining stakeholder trust.
3. Manage third-party vendors to fulfill project objectives.
4. Present data-driven reports to senior stakeholders.
5. Participate in project stage gate reviews and financial tracking.
6. Manage procurement processes from RFP to contract award.
Experience, Qualifications & Capabilities
* Experience managing multiple physical security projects, including IT infrastructure and business systems analysis.
* Experience in Critical National Infrastructure (CNI) or utilities industry is a plus.
* Higher education in IT or security certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
* Strong project management skills and leadership abilities.
* Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Experience working in both Waterfall and Agile environments.
* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, changing environment.
* Strong virtual team collaboration skills.
Highly Preferred
* Knowledge of physical security technology and operations.
* Experience in fast-paced divestment scenarios.
* Security clearance (SC) is a plus.
This role may require National Security Vetting (NSV), including meeting the Minimum Residency Criteria (MRC) of five years in the UK.
