Joining us as an IT Operations Support Engineer, you’ll be working closely with colleagues and other internal teams, covering the incident and request processes. You’ll be overseeing the full deployment of releases and patches into the live environment, ensuring the environment is up to date. You’ll help protect the BAU environment by ensuring that all releases are thoroughly tested and signed off before they are implemented. Working closely with our Problem Manage ment Engineers, you’ll help to address high volume or large impact trends across all services and devices. In this varied, challenging and rewarding role, you’ll be helping to ensure we remain compliant with our p olicies and work, as part of a resolver team for hard to solve interactions (also working with wider resolver teams). You’ll be required to step into the role as incident lead when a major outage or disruption occurs, forming part of the resolution team as The role covers core hours as well as out of hours support on a rota basis for Priority 1 incidents from 7am to 10pm over a 7-day period. How will I know if I am right for this role? Ideally, you’ll bring a high level of technical ability across multiple disciplines- including networking, security, applications, desktops and EPOS environments. We are looking for someone who is experienced working with ITIL principles – ensuring that the live environment is always protected. As well as having a strong eye for detail and an ability to spot trends, you’ll also be able to remain calm whilst under pressure and have the skills to handle multiple priorities at the same time. You’ll be able to deeply analyse interactions to root cause an issue through to resolution and be able to stop trends from emerging. Bringing strong communication skills, you’ll be confident in the ability to communicate in a style relevant to your audience- removing jargon where necessary.
