Make a tangible impact
As Senior Electrical Project Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting all capital expenditure, process enhancement, and plant improvement schemes at the Colors manufacturing and Shotton site. You will oversee all project stages from conception to implementation and operation, providing support to maintenance teams as needed. You will lead a team of project engineers, design draughtsmen, and contractors, focusing on safe working practices.
Principal accountabilities include:
1. Design, develop, procure, install, and commission projects following established procedures.
2. Prepare governance structures, project plans, and progress reports.
3. Develop detailed electrical requirements and specifications, including risk assessments, management of change, process safety, and hazard considerations (HAZOPs).
4. Ensure adherence to Tata Engineering Standards, HSE guidance, and Codes of Practice.
5. Provide engineering support to plant engineers and manufacturing teams.
6. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of engineering equipment developments relevant to the role.
7. Produce project reports to ensure transparency of scope, timeline, financials, and risks.
8. Compile cost and resource forecast data.
You will report directly to the Manager for Site Development Projects and liaise with other engineering functions within Colors and Tata Steel Europe.
We see your potential
Candidates should hold at least a Degree or HND/HNC in electrical engineering, with experience as an electrical engineer. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status, or active pursuit of it, is preferred. Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental legislation, along with excellent budget management and communication skills, are essential. Problem-solving, decision-making, and effective teamwork are also required.
Desirable skills and qualifications:
* Prince2 or similar project management qualification
* Experience in planning and executing capital projects, managing both Tata and external contractors
* Knowledge of Machinery Regulations and Construction Design and Management regulations
* Understanding of SAP budgetary controls and procurement procedures
* Experience with electrical technology for continuous strip coating lines and related operations
