Job Description:
The School of Art and Design is looking for an enthusiastic and flexible part-time Lecturer to join our contemporary, forward-thinking, and high-achieving team.
Working closely with students, stakeholders, and employers, you will strive for continuous improvement and higher standards for the benefit of the community. We aim to do the ordinary things extraordinarily well.
We are seeking a highly motivated individual with extensive knowledge in concept art and character development, to contribute to our successful digital illustration and animation course. Our mission is to prepare students for the industry by collaborating with employers to impart creative and transferable skills essential for success in the creative sector. You will promote these values within the course and the wider Art & Design school.
Ideal candidates should possess expertise in contemporary digital and traditional skills. Familiarity with a range of creative software and processes is preferred, including:
* Animation techniques and principles
* Industry-standard software
* Toon Boom
* Digital drawing
* Procreate
* Clip Studio
The successful candidate will be positive, enthusiastic, resilient, and eager to seek development opportunities for our courses. You should demonstrate an adaptive and flexible teaching style to support a diverse range of students.
Teaching experience and relevant qualifications are desirable, but we are open to candidates with the right skills and a willingness to engage in self-development.
It is essential that our courses reflect industry practices. You will drive course development to ensure relevance and alignment with industry needs. You should also provide prompt, accurate, and detailed assessments of student work throughout the academic year.
