Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Assistant / KP to join our small kitchen team in our busy café bar in Ancoats. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food and a desire to contribute to a vibrant kitchen environment. As a Kitchen Assistant / KP, you will play a key role in supporting our chefs and ensuring that our kitchen runs smoothly. This position is perfect for individuals looking to gain experience.
Duties
* Help with washing up
* Putting away deliveries and keeping storage areas clean and tidy
* Assist in food preparation under the guidance of the kitchen manager.
* Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene throughout the kitchen.
* Help with the cleaning and organisation of kitchen equipment and utensils.
* Support the culinary team during busy service periods by preparing ingredients
* Participate in catering events by preparing food items and ensuring timely delivery of food
* Ensure that all kitchen areas are kept clean, tidy, and well-organised at all times.
* Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
Requirements
* Previous experience in a kitchen environment is desirable but not essential
* Knowledge of food safety practices and hygiene standards is preferred.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in food preparation tasks.
* Willingness to learn new skills
* Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends if required.
