Offer description

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us.

Please see below for the detailed job description of the role.

Are you passionate about transforming healthcare services and driving sustainable change? We are seeking an ambitious, forward‑thinking Band 7 Transformation Manager to join the newly established Strategic Network for Critical Care (SNCC), a dynamic programme bringing together Adult and Neonatal Critical Care Operational Delivery Networks across the South East of England.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in shaping a new, integrated model for critical care networks from 2025/26 onwards. As the Transformation Manager, you will:

* Support the core network team to develop agile and modernised ways of working
* Help set clear objectives, prioritise workloads and streamline processes
* Lead the development of a shared resourcing hub, including data analytics and administrative support functions
* Drive transformational programmes and project management, ensuring the network is sustainable, future‑ready and able to maximise new funding opportunities
* Work collaboratively across multi‑disciplinary teams, providers, commissioners and regional partners

University Hospital Southampton is one of England's largest acute teaching Trusts, offering a wide range of learning and development opportunities to support your career aspirations. Located on the south coast with an international airport and direct rail links to London, Southampton offers an ideal setting to live and work, with the New Forest, South Downs and Jurassic Coast.

We believe that using technology wisely shows strong time management and commitment to innovation. However, personalising your recruitment application to highlight your unique skills and experiences is crucial. Relying too heavily on generic, AI‑generated content instead of drawing from your own strengths and accomplishments may lead to your application being rejected if multiple candidates present identical or similar information.

At UHS we’re committed to providing a flexible working environment where possible. Whether you are balancing family, study, or your wellbeing with your career, we want to support you so you can help our patients.

At UHS, we proudly champion individuality, recognising that outstanding care is only possible with a diverse, inclusive team. We’re committed to creating an anti‑racist, anti‑discriminatory environment where everyone feels valued, safe, and empowered to make a meaningful impact in our communities. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences to join us in building a healthcare community where everyone can belong, thrive, and contribute.

About Us:

* Thames Valley & Wessex (TVW)
* Kent, Surrey & Sussex (KSS)

Across these areas, we deliver seven core functions:

* Service Delivery
* Resources
* Workforce
* Quality
* Collaboration
* Transformation
* Population Health

Our workplans are developed in partnership with commissioners, ICBs and providers, ensuring high‑quality, equitable care for critically ill patients and families.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a complex, fast‑moving environment and is motivated by the opportunity to influence system‑level change across a large regional footprint.

Who We’re Looking For

You will be a skilled programme or transformation professional with experience in:

* Service redesign or improvement
* Managing multiple projects and stakeholders
* Working across organisational boundaries
* Applying data‑driven insights to support decision‑making
* Delivering change within healthcare or similarly complex systems

Strong communication, organisation and relationship‑building skills are essential.

Why Join Us?

* Shape the future of critical care networks across the South East
* Be part of a new, innovative strategic structure
* Work with supportive, collaborative and forward‑thinking teams
* Contribute to improving outcomes for patients and families across the region.

If you’re ready to make a meaningful impact at scale and help build a sustainable future for critical care, we’d love to hear from you.
