We are looking for individuals who are passionate about people and music to join our team as volunteers!
Sheffield Music Academy is a vibrant and thriving music education charity, nurturing the next generation of musicians in the region. As one of only 14 Centres for Advanced Training in the UK, we inspire and support musicians aged 6-19 years through 1-1 teaching, ensembles, theory classes, and more. We are committed to enabling young people to become well rounded and experienced musicians. We are looking for individuals who are interested in gaining experience in the fields of music education and music management to join our team!
Role and Responsibilities
* Volunteers will experience helping us run teaching Saturdays and various events. This will include learning how the academy and the team work throughout the process.
* Volunteers will be expected to be present on our teaching days as well as some afternoon and evening concerts. Our teaching on Saturdays starts in the morning and finishes in the late afternoon. Concerts usually take place in the late afternoon or evenings on weekends; however times may vary – volunteers will be informed of dates and times in advance.
* Through supporting our team volunteers will gain valuable skills and knowledge training you for a future within the arts.

We also offer an opportunity to observe what happens behind the scenes of a music education organisation. This is an exciting opportunity to gain and strengthen people skills, organisational skills and confidence. In addition, the academy is a great place to meet all of our administrative and teaching staff, who are all very passionate, helpful and happy to share their knowledge with those interested!
