Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. Mission Readiness Group has a job opportunity for a full-time Electrician II (Hyperbarics) in Portsmouth, VA.
Summary: Performs a variety of complex electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of electronics and/or electrical equipment for the distribution or utilization of electric energy onboard U.S. vessels or government installations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Reports directly to the Production Manager; in his/her absence, reports to the project Foreman.
* Performs troubleshooting of components and systems to diagnose issues and recommend cost-effective repairs.
* Performs and verifies mechanical alignments.
* Maintains control over Level-1 material controls as per Epsilon Systems instructions.
* Performs installation, repair, overhaul, or modification of electronic or electromechanical systems and components.
* Assists with on-site field service, system grooms, checkouts, minor repairs, and configuration validation.
* Prepares and installs equipment or system alterations following directives and technical manuals.
* Notifies the Foreman of any unsatisfactory conditions during operations.
* Maintains good housekeeping practices and adheres to safety regulations, including PPE usage.
* Performs troubleshooting and testing of electrical and electromechanical systems using appropriate tools and devices.
* Works from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure conformance to requirements.
* Performs component assembly, including multi-pin connectors and fiber optic connections.
* Installs and maintains motors, generators, and related components.
Required Qualifications:
* High school diploma or equivalent, or vocational training.
* Minimum 5 years' experience as a marine electrician.
* Knowledge of NAVSEA Standard items and energized circuit work.
* Qualified in at least two processes such as copper multi-pin connector assembly, fiber optic connector assembly, soldering, or electrical diagraming.
* Effective communication skills and ability to work independently or in a team.
* Basic math skills.
* Proficiency in English.
* Ability to obtain and maintain Security Clearance Level Secret and access military/government installations worldwide.
* Willingness to travel as required.
ADA Notations:
* Requires walking, reaching, sitting, and concentration, often in noisy environments.
* Must navigate narrow passages, ladders, and antenna masts.
* Capable of lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
* Manual dexterity required for manipulating small objects and assembling components.
* Color perception necessary.
* Personal protective equipment (PPE) may be required.
