An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part time clinic nurse to join our small but busy team. The Occupational Health Service provides a compliance-based service to all University staff and postgraduate students, and some undergraduate student groups and its broad remit is to prevent work-associated ill health and to promote health at work. In doing so it works alongside other University central services such as the Safety Office.
The role includes the screening of professionally regulated students i.e., Medical, Veterinary and PGCE (teacher) students, and staff undertaking research in the NHS, routine health surveillance, work related immunisations and health promotion. Reporting to the Senior Occupational Health Nurse Adviser you will carry out immunisation, phlebotomy and health screening to staff and some student groups. You will be expected to manage your own clinics, have excellent organisational skills and the self-confidence to work independently, with access to clinical advice as needed. Effective communication and team working skills together with confident use of standard IT systems including Microsoft Office are essential. Applicants must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) within the adult branch.
