Description
The DMUsport Coach will deliver expert tuition to university student clubs and support club activities, aiding the delivery of the DMUsport player pathway. The role involves developing relationships with internal and external partners to benefit the club, student members, and the university.
Main duties and responsibilities:
1. Provide expert coaching to the university’s student club.
2. Support and guide the club committee to increase participation and promote growth in competitive sport.
3. Deliver practical coaching and develop both long-term and short-term development plans.
4. Attend all training sessions and fixtures/matches.
5. Analyze and report on club performance.
6. Ensure health and safety policies are followed.
7. Promote student support services and engage in CPD opportunities related to student welfare.
8. Build and maintain relationships with colleagues, DSU staff, sports clubs, and leisure facilities staff.
9. Promote sport at DMU to students and the public.
10. Attend meetings and events outside of core hours as needed.
11. Assist with other projects to meet departmental objectives.
12. Treat all staff, students, contractors, and visitors with dignity and respect.
