Full Stack Software Developer
Location: Remote(from UK based home address - please note that in person attendance to final interview is required)Hours: 08:00 to 16:30 (with 1 hr unpaid break for lunch) Contract: Full time, fixed term contract for 1 year (with possibility of extension depending on business need)
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum (depending on experience)Reporting to:Head of Engineering
Role Overview
We’re looking for a versatile and experienced Full Stack Developer to join our growing engineering team.
You will play a key role in building and maintaining scalable web applications that support our digital platforms and internal tools.
This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys working across the stack and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
* Design, develop, and maintain robust full-stack applications using modern frameworks.
* Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other developers to deliver high-quality features.
* Write clean, testable, and efficient code using best practices.
* Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and agile ceremonies.
* Troubleshoot and resolve bugs, performance issues, and production incidents.
Tech Stack
* Frontend: React, HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
* Backend: Django
* Databases: MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB
* Other: Figma, Agile/Scrum, GitHub Actions
Requirements:
Essential
* 2+ years of experience in full stack development
* Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and React
* Experience with Django and MySQL
* Strong problem-solving and communication skills
* Ability to work independently and in a team
Desirable
* Exposure to mobile development (React Native)
* Background in edtech or education platforms
* Familiarity with other backend frameworks or CMS platforms

Shortlisting & interviews:
* Shortlisting of applications: reviewed by the hiring team on an ongoing basis. If an application is of interest, the candidate will be issued with a technical test (from TestGorilla) to complete. The hiring lead will arrange a remote call with applicants who successfully complete the test to discuss it along with the role and expectations.
* Interviews: those who successfully complete the test to the expected level and remote call with the hiring lead, will be invited to a face to face interview at our London Head Office (currently planned for w/c 1st September 2025)
* Final outcomes: by 9th September 2025
* Start date: ASAP
