Job Title: EHS Coordinator
Location: Dumfries, VA

Reports to: Corporate EHS Manager and Project Leadership
Position Summary
Quality Plus Services is seeking a motivated and hands-on EHS Coordinator to support our industrial construction and maintenance operations. This position is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and continuously improving environmental, health, and safety programs on active job sites—ensuring compliance, reducing risk, and strengthening QPS’s culture of accountability and care.
The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of industrial and electrical construction environments and a strong track record of engaging field personnel to uphold safe work practices and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Compliance
* Ensure adherence to environmental regulations related to:
o Hazardous materials handling and disposal
o Spill prevention and response
o Stormwater and air quality permitting (as applicable)
* Maintain and submit required environmental documentation (e.g., waste manifests, EPA logs)
* Assist with site-specific environmental protection plans and audits
Health & Safety Oversight
* Enforce compliance with OSHA standards, QPS safety policies, and site-specific safety requirements
* Conduct regular site inspections, behavior-based observations, and risk assessments
* Support safety efforts specific to electrical work, confined space entry, elevated work, hot work, and equipment operations
* Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses; ensure corrective actions are tracked and closed
* Facilitate and document job hazard analyses (JHAs), toolbox talks, and daily safety briefings
* Oversee implementation of PPE requirements, emergency response protocols, and hazard communication programs
Training & Engagement
* Provide onboarding safety for employees and subcontractors
* Deliver ongoing safety and environmental training aligned with project scope and regulatory requirements
* Encourage and support employee participation in safety programs and committees
* Promote a “safety-first” mindset through field presence, positive reinforcement, and consistent follow-up
Qualifications
Required:
* 2–5 years of EHS experience in industrial, heavy civil, or electrical construction environments
* Familiarity with OSHA 1910/1926 standards and environmental compliance frameworks (EPA, RCRA, etc.)
* High school diploma or GED
* Strong field communication, documentation, and conflict-resolution skills

* OSHA 30-Hour certification (Construction or General Industry)
* CPR/First Aid certification
* Knowledge of NFPA 70E, LOTO procedures, and environmental permitting processes
* Associate’s or bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
* Experience supporting construction projects with high-voltage electrical scopes or industrial facilities
