Job Summary
Provide expert support on both contentious (employment disputes, tribunals) and non-contentious (advisory, compliance, transactional) employment law matters for a diverse range of commercial clients. This full-time position suits proactive legal professionals who excel in client-facing, fast-moving environments and enjoy working with a varied business portfolio.
Responsibilities
* Advise clients on a wide range of employment law issues, including conduct, absence, discrimination, TUPE, redundancy, and settlements.
* Deliver practical, commercially focused advice via telephone and written communication.
* Manage a caseload that includes contentious work (employment tribunals, dispute resolution) and non-contentious tasks (contract reviews, policy drafting, compliance).
* Collaborate with HR, managers, and business stakeholders to provide practical legal solutions.
* Stay informed of developments in employment law and share insights and best practices with colleagues and clients.
* Maintain precise and comprehensive case management records.
* Handle a high volume of advisory work while ensuring excellent client service quality.
Requirements
* UK-qualified solicitor with 2–4 years’ post-qualified experience (PQE) in employment law.
* Proven expertise in both contentious (litigation/tribunal) and non-contentious (advisory/compliance) employment law matters.
* Ability to manage a demanding caseload and consistently meet deadlines.
* Strong communication skills and ability to build client relationships.
* Practical problem solver with a commercial mindset and keen attention to detail.
* Current knowledge of UK employment legislation and HR practices.
* Comfortable working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
* Based in or willing to relocate to Manchester.
