Your Role as People Manager
As a key member of the HR team, you'll act as a trusted partner to managers and department heads across the business. You'll connect operational teams with head office colleagues to deliver value-driven HR solutions that align with organisational goals. From guiding managers through complex employee relations cases to leading engagement activities and supporting recruitment processes, you'll be at the heart of creating a thriving workplace where everyone can succeed.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with leaders across warehouse and head office teams to implement people plans that promote high performance and engagement.
Build manager capability through coaching sessions, training workshops, and ongoing development support.
Provide expert advice on employee relations matters, including handling sensitive casework with professionalism and care.
Drive recruitment excellence by supporting best-in-class resourcing, on-boarding processes, and talent retention strategies.
Lead organisational design projects, restructures, and change management initiatives with effective communication and consultation.
Champion well-being initiatives that foster a safe, healthy, and inclusive environment for all employees.
Utilise data analytics to identify trends, track progress against goals, and inform decision-making at all levels.
Run engagement activities such as listening groups or surveys to gather feedback and develop actionable improvement plans.
Ensure compliance with UK employment law by embedding consistent best practices across all teams.
Oversee HR systems administration to ensure efficiency, user-friendliness, and valuable insights for continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
We're seeking an experienced HR professional who thrives in fast-moving environments and has a proven track record of delivering impactful people strategies. You'll bring a blend of technical expertise in employment law, employee relations, and data analytics alongside exceptional interpersonal skills that enable you to build trust quickly.
Key Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in an HR Business Partner or People Partner role within operational or logistics environments.
Strong knowledge of UK employment law with hands-on experience managing complex ER cases from start to finish.
Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders at all levels through coaching conversations that drive results.
Advanced proficiency in Excel (e.g., pivot tables, look-ups) for analysing workforce data and generating actionable insights.
Hands-on experience administering HR systems and driving process improvements for greater efficiency.
A track record of leading or supporting organisational design projects or major change initiatives.
Expertise in performance management frameworks, engagement strategies, absence management protocols, and well-being programmes.
Experience designing or facilitating colleague engagement activities such as surveys or listening groups.
