RETAIL SECURITY OFFICER
Location: CO-OP Shaftsbury Road, Bath
Hours: 40 hours per week – overtime available.
Pay: £14.04 per hour
Job Overview
Protect our customer's property, people, and assets by providing security services in accordance with the site’s Published Assignment Instructions (AIs) and any subsequent changes. Deliver results that meet or exceed the Key Performance Indicators / Service Level Agreement (SLA) to aid contract retention. Undertake additional training for continuous development.
Responsibilities
* Protect property, people, and assets per site-assigned AIs.
* Deliver service that meets or exceeds KPI/SLA and supports contract retention.
* Maintain full responsibility and accountability for the service provided.
* Attend and complete all on‑site tasks outlined in the Assignment Instructions.
* Proactively review and suggest amendments to the Assignment Instructions to improve service levels.
* Ensure compliance with UK laws, guidance, and company policies.
* Follow instructions without unnecessarily challenging authority.
* Work systematically, methodically, and orderly.
* Maintain professional conduct with difficult customers and challenging situations.
Training & Development
* Complete required competency training and additional training as directed.
* Use technology to achieve key work objectives and develop job knowledge.
* Renew licence 16 weeks before expiry.
Security and Health & Safety
* Report health and safety hazards immediately.
* Stay alert to threats or changes, and take appropriate action.
* Use common sense and initiative, involving others if a situation becomes threatening.
* Complete accurate, detailed notebook entry after any incident.
* Maintain schedules and demonstrate commitment to Mitie and the client.
* Ensure check calls are carried out at the allocated times per AIs.
* Call emergency services and the Communication Centre to report incidents.
Qualifications
* Previous security experience.
* SIA licence.
* SC clearance desirable.
* Front‑line licence in either Security Guarding or Door Supervision, and CCTV PSS SIA licence (as required).
