Applications are invited for the post of NHS Locum Diagnostic Radiologist with an interest in paediatric radiology. Duties will include all those duties normally expected of a Consultant Radiologist in a similar sized Radiology department in the United Kingdom; with the majority of the appointees time being spent on clinical duties.
This fixed term post is for 10 PAs. The exact job plan will be discussed and agreed with the successful candidate depending on the departmental needs and complexity of case mix. This fixed term post is for duration of 12 months and will be reviewed.
The post is based at both James Cook University Hospital and Friarage Hospital and the successful candidate will be expected to take part in the acute and elective diagnostic radiology workload for the local population. In addition, cross site working at our Group structure partner (University Hospital of North Tess & Hartlepool) may be required as both Trusts are part of University Hospital Tees.
Main duties of the job
·Support the diagnostic radiology service for University Hospitals Tees.
·Work independently and under consultant supervision as appropriate, and supervise others.
·Demonstrate leadership through positive role modelling and team working.
·Assume a continuous commitment for the care of patients and ensure, in consultation with colleagues, that adequate arrangements are made for leave and off duty periods.
·Promote high professional standards of clinical care for patients, both through direct patient care and by the maintenance of continuing professional development.
·Take an active role in the management and organisation of the radiology department including contributing to teaching, research and audit.
·Take part in annual appraisals and revalidation.

Knowledge and skills
Essential criteria
1. Competent in performing ultrasound
2. Competent at reporting CT, MRI, fluoroscopy and plain film
3. in depth knowledge in their sub-specialist area of paediatrics
4. Knowledge across the breadth of general radiology
Desirable criteria
5. Competent in performing interventions relevant to subspecialist interest.
QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
6. Relevant CCT or equivalent (equivalence must be confirmed by GMC by date of AAC)
7. FRCR or equivalent specialist qualification.
8. GMC Registration and Licence to Practice
Desirable criteria
9. Entry onto the GMC Specialist Register or eligibility for entry within 6 months of the date of the AAC
10. Training in appraisal technique
Experience
Essential criteria
11. experience across the breadth of general radiology
12. Evidence of experience in sub-speciality interest of paediatric imaging
13. Previous experience in paediatric radiology
