Role
Join us in York as a Volunteer Project Officer and play a vital role in shaping and growing our Volunteer Service across the city.
Responsibilities
* Assist the Volunteer Manager in expanding volunteer programmes aimed at preventing escalating needs.
* Collaborate with the Volunteer Manager to oversee and deliver key volunteer programmes.
* Create and launch new project ideas that support Children’s Social Care goals.
* Lead recruitment, training, and retention efforts for volunteers across the service.
* Provide structured, compassionate supervision and guidance to volunteers.
* Support independent return interviews when a child or young person has gone missing from home.
Qualifications
* Passionate about community engagement, parenting and prevention-based work.
* Confident communicator with superb organisational and supervisory skills.
* Positive team player committed to fostering growth in others.
* Competent to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public in spoken English at CEFR level C1.
* Successful candidate will undertake an enhanced Criminal Record check via the Disclosure and Barring Service.
