The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity within our Product Design team as Senior CAD & Jewellery Designer. In this position you will be hands‑on progressing projects from conceptual stages through to design delivery. You will collaborate with the wider Product Design team and help design best‑in‑class products to strengthen our positioning as an affordable luxury brand. You will work directly with the Creative Director and Senior Design Manager to deliver jewellery ranges on time and to budget.
You will be responsible for leading product development, including creative development and brand styling, managing projects from start to finish. You will use your excellent knowledge of specialist design software to lead the making of 3D CAD models for new jewellery and accessory concepts.
You will manage junior team members to deliver products and packaging that support company objectives, always staying ahead of industry trends.
The role is Monday – Friday 9am‑5pm. You’ll enjoy the friendly office in Banbury, Oxfordshire, three days a week, with the flexibility to work from home for the remaining two days.
How You’ll Contribute
* Drive the brand forward in jewellery product design, maintaining and increasing our positioning as an affordable luxury brand.
* Design on‑brand, innovative products and concepts that are visually attractive, using targeted research and trend anticipation.
* Lead the creation of 3D CAD models for new jewellery and accessories.
* Mentor Mid‑Weight and Junior Designers, ensuring clear communication of projects and enhancing their CAD skills.
* Take full ownership of deliverables from concept to final production, providing technical specifications and liaising with factories to ensure quality and consistency.
* Work closely with Buying to ensure products meet pricing targets and come on schedule.
* Ensure end‑to‑end delivery of all jewellery and accessories.
* Check all samples against specs, ensuring accuracy and modifying as needed based on sign‑off from the Creative Director and Senior Design Manager.
* Sign off on spec sheets for all designs and mentor designers to deliver first‑time right samples.
* Implement team processes that improve the design workflow and manage these ideas proactively.
* Create final visuals and range plans using Adobe Creative Suite.
* Maintain awareness of competitors in jewellery, gifting, fashion accessories and personalisation, providing monthly insights to the team.
* Collaborate with Senior Packaging Designer to innovate new concepts.
* Prepare daily/weekly reports to the Senior Design Manager, outlining status and progress of live projects.
* Develop and drive new personalisation offerings, ensuring successful implementation across relevant teams.
* Present concepts to the Creative Director and Senior Design Manager, clearly communicating progress and keeping the team on track.
* Support other brands owned by the company as requested.
* Perform any other ad hoc duties reasonably requested by the Company.
The Talent You’ll Bring
* Design qualification in jewellery, fashion, CAD or product design with a passion for fashion and lifestyle products.
* 2‑3 years experience in Mid‑Weight or above in product design, preferably within jewellery, fashion and accessories brands.
* Proven ability to deliver designs from concept to final product.
* Track record of managing processes and people to deliver high‑quality products on deadlines.
* Experience coaching and mentoring junior team members.
* Strong visual communication skills and proficiency in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
* Advanced knowledge of Matrix Gold CAD software.
* Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
* Exceptional accuracy in written correspondence and numeracy.
* Experience working in a fast‑paced, pressured environment with high confidentiality and integrity.
* Ability to work proactively, take initiative and work autonomously.
* Positive, can‑do attitude and excellent team‑working skills.
