An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Quality, Safety and Improvement Directorate of the NHS Wales Executive as part of a growing team providing high-level administrative and business support to the all-Wales Nurse Staffing Programme. This role enables the delivery of the programme objectives on time and in full.
The post holder will have the ability to command respect, create a sense of community within the team, liaise with nursing leads across NHS Wales, and engage with frontline nursing teams. They will demonstrate insight and experience to be credible and articulate in professional nursing issues and challenges.
The role involves building and maintaining key professional relationships with stakeholders to ensure the programme aligns with national strategies, with all stakeholders fully briefed.
The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and innovative team, receive a comprehensive induction, and have access to development opportunities. NHS Wales offers flexible and hybrid working arrangements, including attendance at the Capital Quarter, Cardiff, as required.
This post primarily supports the Head of the All-Wales Nurse Staffing Programme, responsible for delivering responsibilities under the Nurse Staffing Levels Wales Act (2016). The programme aims to promote quality care through evidence-based staffing levels and a 'Team Around the Patient' approach.
The Programme Manager is a senior role responsible for strategic and operational deployment of the programme, ensuring robust governance, maintaining momentum, and coordinating inter-dependent projects. Experience in monitoring, planning, and controlling programmes is essential.
The NHS Wales Executive partners with the Welsh Government, NHS Wales, and is hosted by Public Health Wales. Its key purpose is to improve care quality and safety, leading to better outcomes, access, patient experience, reduced variation, and improved population health.
