Job Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a part‑time pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team at HMP Dovegate, a Category B Prison located in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. In this role you will provide the highest standards of healthcare to our patients without compromising on efficiency and quality.
Hours & Salary
* Monday – Friday, 22.5 hours per week
* Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday 08:00 – 16:00 (08:30 – 16:30 considered)
* No weekends
Annual salary: £51,643 – £57,955 per annum, depending on experience (pro rota).

Main Duties
* Provide expert clinical advice on medicines and poly‑pharmacy in line with expected standards, ensuring safe, modern medicines management and optimisation service for patients.
* Deliver an integrated, safe, legal, and high‑quality prison pharmacy service as part of a comprehensive healthcare package based on prison population needs.
* Inspire positive leadership for pharmacy technicians and the wider healthcare team, creating a good working environment and facilitating staff retention.
* Promote good practice in prescribing decisions and implement improved medicines management across the prison healthcare team.
* Share information on pharmaceutical products, medicines management, optimisation, legislation, and general health education with patients and healthcare teams.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
* GPhC registered pharmacist.
* Legal right to work in the UK.
* Current UK professional registration.
Desirable
* Experience of newly qualified pharmacists and beyond.
* Management and leadership experience.
* Procurement and audit experience.
* Vocational Masters Degree in Pharmacy including pre‑registration training.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience developing effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
