Paint Department Manager
We are seeking an experienced supervisor or manager who has worked in a paint(spray) environment to come and manage our Paint Department.
Responsibilities
Manage the day to day running of the paint department.
Ensure that all items are painted to the required specification; not limited to but including, paint type and colour, paint thickness, drying times and temperature and finish level.
Maximise utilisation of the robot line to ensure it is being run as efficient as possible.
Maintain accurate records including, film thickness log, quality checks & daily check sheets filled in correctly.
Ensure there is a high level of housekeeping within the department.
Help define processes and instigate improvement practices.
Ensure that the required, high levels of product quality are maintained.
Manage the distribution of work within the department.
Ensure the schedule is up to date for the paint department i.e. the schedule reflects exactly where each item is in its process.
Manage the Paint Shop staff so that they are deployed to get the best output out of the department.
Ensure that all paint is stocked and stored appropriately.
Assisting on the paint line, spraying, masking, hand painting and preparing items for painting as and when required.
Train and develop Paint Department staff, including carrying out appraisals and performance monitoring meetings.
Ensure all equipment is maintained properly and there is suitable stock of equipment and other consumables used within the paint department.
To observe Health and Safety rules and be observant to possible hazards within the work place.
Requirements:
Experience managing a team
Knowledge of paint, hand spraying
