It partners with leading OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers to support the full vehicle development lifecycle, from initial concept and simulation through to physical testing and validation.The Electromobility Systems team plays a pivotal role in developing and optimising thermal and energy systems for the next generation of electric and hybrid vehicles.Role Overview:We are seeking a Thermal Systems Engineer with a strong focus on thermal system testing and validation. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and conducting bench and vehicle-based tests, working directly with customers, analysing thermal data, and generating technical reports. This role is ideal for someone with experience in EV thermal systems and ideally some exposure to thermal simulation tools.Key Responsibilities:Set up, execute, and monitor thermal systems tests (bench and climatic/vehicle)Instrument and prepare automotive thermal systems for testing (A/C, heat pumps, battery cooling)Collaborate closely with customers to define test requirements and deliverablesAnalyse test data using thermodynamic tools and ExcelProduce clear, detailed technical reports with insights and recommendationsContribute to ongoing development of test procedures and engineering best practicesOccasionally support simulation activities using tools such as GT-Suite or similarRequired Experience & Skills:Strong background in automotive thermal systems, particularly in testing and validationPractical knowledge of refrigerant systems (A/C and heat pumps)Experience with test instrumentation, data collection, and analysisSolid thermodynamics and heat transfer knowledgeExcellent communication and reporting skillsProficiency in Excel and general engineering toolsDesirable Experience:Exposure to thermal simulation tools (e.g. GT-Suite, Simulink)Experience in vehicle climatic testingUnderstanding of BEV/FCEV architectures and energy managementFamiliarity with Systems Engineering principles and the V-cycleKnowledge of cabin thermal comfort or HVAC software developmentCandidate Profile:Currently or previously in a similar role within an OEM, Tier 1 supplier, or engineering consultancyEV automotive background is highly beneficial; related industries (e.g., aerospace, rail) may be consideredAble to work independently, manage time effectively, and communicate confidently with customers and internal teamsMust be willing to work on-site in Warwickshire up to 5 days per week (occasional remote flexibility)Other Requirements:Engineering degree in Mechanical, Thermal, or Electro-mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)Full UK Driving LicenseIf this is of interest please apply on LinkedIn or email george.taylor@everec.co.uk
