Assistant / Intermediate Quantity Surveyor
Location: Manchester, with regular site visits across the region.
Sector: Leading North West Civil Engineering contractor.

* We’re working in partnership with a well-established civil engineering contractor with an excellent reputation, based in Greater Manchester and operating across the North of England. The business delivers a wide range of infrastructure projects and is known for its practical, hands-on approach and commitment to developing its team. Projects range up to £15m across Commercial, Healthcare, Energy & Power, Sports, and Utilities & Telecoms sectors.
The Role
* We are seeking an Assistant / Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to support with projects across multiple sectors. This is a hands-on role, combining office-based cost control and reporting with regular site visits to actively engage with projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with cost planning, measurement, and valuations on live projects.
* Support tendering, procurement, and contract administration.
* Maintain accurate and timely cost reporting.
* Conduct site visits to liaise with clients, project teams, and monitor progress.
Requirements
* Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying (HNC equivalent accepted).
* Minimum 2 years’ experience in a civil engineering or construction environment.
* Comfortable balancing office-based tasks with site engagement.
* Knowledge of standard contracts, tendering, and procurement procedures.
* Strong communication, organisational, and teamwork skills.
