A busy and well-established commercial vehicle operation in Bedford is looking to recruit a hands-on Trailer / HGV Workshop Supervisor. This position is ideally suited to an experienced Technician stepping into a senior position, with approximately 90% of time spent on the tools and the remainder supporting workshop coordination.
This is a practical, shop-floor-based position where the successful Supervisor will play a key responsibility in maintaining workshop efficiency while continuing to carry out repairs and servicing work.
Key responsibilities include:
6. Carrying out trailer servicing, inspections, and repairs
7. Supporting the planning and prioritisation of daily workshop workloads
8. Leading by example as a senior technician within the team
9. Ensuring health & safety standards are maintained
10. Completing job cards and workshop documentation accurately
11. Assisting with mentoring and supporting junior technicians
12. Maintaining high levels of customer service and minimising vehicle downtime

Requirements:
20. Proven experience as a Trailer or HGV Technician
21. Relevant qualifications (City & Guilds or equivalent)
22. Strong technical ability and a hands-on approach
23. Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workload
24. Confident supporting and guiding other technicians
25. Basic computer skills
