Job Description:
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. The shift pattern for this position is Mon – Sun day & night.
(Please note the salary is Pro Rata) for part time hours.
The Senior Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) is part of the multidisciplinary team delivering care to patients. Support and supervision is provided by a Registered Nurse. The Healthcare Support Worker carries out a range of patient care tasks and duties to enable the team to provide an effective and efficient service within Acute hospital settings. To achieve this, the Senior HCSW will:
* Assist with provide patient centred care including personal care of the patient (oncology/post surgical and early pregnancy patients)
* Coordinating meal times
* Observations and reporting to RN
* Venepuncture/urinalysis and pregnancy testing
* IT skills including Trakcare/eEss/estates reporting
* Ensure practice and learning remains up to date
* Moving and Handling
* Answering the telephone and patients buzzers
* Following infection control guideline and keeping up to date with current policies
* Be expected to manage a workload and deal with challenging behaviours of patients and members of the public
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a Skilled Worker visa or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
