This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading organisation at the forefront of technological innovation. Our client ismitted to delivering exceptional digital services and is looking for a talented individual to contribute to their core infrastructure.
Your new role
As a Data Centre Engineer, you'll be instrumental in maintaining the stability and efficiency of our client's core data centres andms rooms. This is a hands-on technical role where you'll be responsible for both the physical infrastructure and the IT hardware within it. You'll work closely with the Cloud & Server Architect and Technology Manager, playing a key part in coordinating installations, moves, changes, and dmissioning of physical assets. You'll also manage third-party vendors, implement new solutions, and ensure the continuous improvement of data centre operations. Expect regular travel to various sites and participation in an out-of-hours on-call rota.
What you'll need to succeed
1. Extensive knowledge of Data Centre Environments, including enterprise-level cooling systems, UPS, generators, and Digital Infrastructure Monitoring Solutions (, SolarWinds, Azure Monitor).
2. Expertise in operating systems, server, storage, and networking technologies.
3. Proven experience with Cloud platforms & architecture and On-premisepute & Storage Infrastructure.
4. Strong understanding of Virtualisation infrastructure environments, specifically Microsoft Hyper-V & VMware.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server Roles (, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, WSUS, DFS, Group Policy) and Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Exchange Online).
6. Experience with Mail & Web filtering tools (, Clearswift, Fortinet), VPN solutions (Microsoft Direct Access, Always on VPN), Remote Desktop Services & VDI Solutions, and Backup & Recovery Solutions.
7. Familiarity with Cyber Security & Antivirus Solutions (, SOPHOS, Microsoft Defender for Endpoint) and Endpoint Management Solutions (Microsoft SCCM & Intune).
8. A good working knowledge of resilient electrical systems and other data centre support systems.
9. Strong provenmunication and influencing skills with the ability to develop effective relationships across all organisational levels.
10. A valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel frequently.
11. Ability to participate in a 24/7 on-call rota.
