Equans is looking for an Senior Electrical Operations Manger to join our team in Edinburgh on a permanent basis. This is a full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary, company vehicle or allowance, bonus and benefits package.
The role holder will oversee the provision of services to The Royal Hospital for Children and Young People, ensuring effective management of daily operations and coordination of electrical service delivery and compliance.
This role is integral to maintaining consistent and high-quality service delivery.
What will you deliver?
1. Delivery of Hard FM services utilising a direct delivery of service and management of specialist subcontractors.
2. Formulate operational strategies interfacing with client for educational properties and services.
3. Management of daily operations and coordination of electrical service delivery and compliance.
4. Provide guidance, coaching, and mentoring to junior staff members. Foster their professional development and ensure they understand their roles and responsibilities.
5. Produce accurate and comprehensive technical reports related to electrical system installations, maintenance, and repairs. Ensure reports are of high quality and provide valuable insights.
6. Perform PPM and Reactive Planned Maintenance (RPM) tasks assigned through Maximo or other designated systems. Sign off completed work and report any issues to the shift lead for rectification.
7. Provide clear direction, objectives, and expectations to staff members. Regularly review their performance, provide constructive feedback, and recognise achievements. Identify development needs and provide opportunities for growth.

Who are we looking for?
19. Previous managerial experience of a PFI/BSF contract within the Health environment or similar
20. People management experience including the ability to lead a team.
21. Experience of undertaking HR procedures especially absence and performance management
22. Knowledge of the commercial aspects of an FM contract.
23. Membership of Professional Body, e.g., BIFM, CIBSE, IAM, IET
24. Excellent communication skills and the ability to be in touch with all members of staff.
25. Proven experience as a Senior Electrical Technician or similar role in a healthcare environment.
26. Strong knowledge of SHTM (Sottish Healthcare Technical Memorandum), PPMs (Planned Preventative Maintenance), and SLAs (Service Level Agreements).
27. Excellent understanding of Engineering Building Services installation and maintenance techniques.
28. Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to coach and develop junior staff.
