Transport Planner at Cammack Transport
Cammack Transport is looking to recruit a Transport Planner to join their team at their site in Colchester. The role involves planning and executing collection and delivery schedules using the most cost-efficient methods, aligned with business objectives, customer service standards, and current legislative requirements.

Job Responsibilities
1. Utilize all IT systems, TMS, and customer portals for efficient fleet and staff deployment.
2. Ensure optimal use of vehicles, drivers, trailers, and manage backloads.
3. Coordinate with the Workshop to ensure vehicle and trailer availability, support service scheduling, and communicate any risks promptly.
4. Share plans with the transport team to optimize efficiency and maintain customer service levels.
5. Manage staffing, including agency staff, to meet daily operational requirements.
6. Communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders to understand and coordinate their schedules, including handling operational delays.
7. Plan and control operational deliveries for the next day, including processing customer bookings and providing quotes.
8. Participate in team and cross-training initiatives to ensure effective coverage.
9. Identify and implement continuous improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
10. Maintain high standards of health and safety, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
Knowledge and Experience Required
* Knowledge of the Highway Code, EU tachograph requirements, Working Time Regulations, and Road Transport Regulations
* Experience with transport operation systems
* Geographical knowledge
* Understanding of Health and Safety regulations
* Relevant experience in transport and planning
* Analytical and problem-solving skills in logistics
* Ability to demonstrate and embody company values throughout all roles
