Qualified Teacher – SEND / PMLD (Secondary) Harrow, North West London Full-Time | September Start Date A specialist education recruitment agency is seeking a qualified and experienced SEND Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive secondary setting in Harrow. This is a full-time role teaching pupils with PMLD (Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties) and complex needs, many of whom are working below age-related expectations and require a highly personalised, nurturing approach to learning. The Role You will be responsible for delivering tailored lessons to students with complex SEND needs, adapting the curriculum to meet individual learning profiles. Key responsibilities include: • Teaching pupils with PMLD and complex needs • Planning and delivering lessons for students working below age-related expectations • Incorporating phonics and communication-based learning approaches • Supporting students on a 1:1 and small group basis • Working alongside Teaching Assistants and therapists • Creating a structured, engaging and supportive classroom environment The Ideal Candidate We are looking for candidates who have: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential • Experience teaching in a SEND or specialist setting • Strong experience with PMLD and complex needs • Experience supporting pupils working below age-related expectations • Knowledge of phonics and early-stage learning approaches • A patient, nurturing and adaptable teaching style • Strong teamwork and communication skills Experience across any age group is welcomed, though specialist SEND experience is highly desirable.
