Our client is one of the UK's leading Tier 1 Principal Contractors, delivering major project solutions across a range of infrastructure and civil engineering projects and as part of long-term framework contracts.
This is an exciting, immediate opportunity a Quantity Surveyor to be part of a multi-billion pound, 5 year regional infrastructure framework for the Southwest from the outset.
As the ideal candidate, you will be a qualified Quantity Surveyor, with 2+ years' experience working on and delivering either infrastructure (railway, highway, or water etc.) or civil Engineering projects, and able to be office or site based as required.
Quantity Surveyor roles and responsibilities (a full JD can be provided):
Develop and commercially manage aspects of a project or packages of work on larger projects from project start up through to close out procedures.
Carry out subcontract procurement in accordance with the procurement process and policy.
Procure materials and off-site services in an efficient manner and ensure appropriate records are kept.
Prepare work package content sheets as part of the project team.
Prepare subcontract invitations to tender and evaluate tender returns (time, cost, quality and SHE) and make recommendations to appoint.
Maximise cash flow through timely preparation of valuations, submission of invoices and receipt of payment.
Assist in the prompt preparation and settlement of final accounts, including variations.
Monitor resources and costs to ensure that projects meet and / or exceed targets.
Contribute to the production of accurate and timely CVR reports and forecasts.
Establish and maintain accurate and robust reporting structures.
Ensures that all necessary contractual notices are put in place, timely and accurately and in accordance with contractual obligations.
Prepare all necessary subcontract notices accurately and on time, prepare subcontract instructions, and adhere to robust subcontract change control procedures.
Prepare timely and accurate payments for authorization, assist in the prompt preparation and settlement of final accounts, including Compensation Events (variations), claims and disputes.
Re-measurement and provision of quantified schedules of works and / or bills of quantities.
Participate in project close out and archiving.
Quantity Surveyor requirements:
Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management, or relevant degree and experience.
Experience of administering NEC forms of contracts.
Previous infrastructure sector experience (railway, highway, or water etc.), ideally from a contractor background.
Minimum 2-3 years' experience and comfortable working on site.
Fully IT literate, Office 365, SAP, and Excel skills essential.
