Overview
The South West Endoscopy Training Academy (SWETA) has been established to address the challenges facing the region’s trainees training in endoscopy. The COVID‑19 pandemic resulted in a significant reduction in endoscopy training opportunities and the impact of IMT training will shorten the length of time that gastroenterology trainees have to develop their endoscopy competencies. The SWETA advanced endoscopy fellowship at North Bristol NHS Trust (NBT) is designed to give gastroenterology trainees a defined period of training to focus on specialist endoscopic skills.
