We are looking for Graduates for our Communities Engineering teams who are adaptable and eager to learn in a leading Engineering and Professional Advisory services consultancy.
We are recruiting Graduates in the following services and locations:
* Communities - Gloucestershire (Bridge Engineering)
* Communities - Lincoln (Highways Engineering)
* Communities - Exeter (Highways and Bridge Engineering)
* Communities - Cardiff (Structures & Infrastructure)
* Communities - Norfolk (Highways and Infrastructure Engineering)
Across the UK, our Communities teams provide local authorities with advice on transport, urban regeneration, flood risk, funding and more. The teams are based in Gloucestershire, Lincoln, Norfolk, Exeter and Cardiff. Location is fixed for these roles.
Day-to-day activities could include tasks such as inspections of existing structures, production of options reports, bridge assessments, design of maintenance and improvement schemes, production of works packages and contract documents, and supervision of works. Roles involve interaction with colleagues, contractors and clients to ensure successful project outcomes.
Our Communities (Engineering) teams include:
* Gloucestershire (Bridge Engineering) – Graduates will help manage an asset of over 1,500 structures and be involved in inspection, design and supervision of bridge maintenance and replacement projects, supporting Gloucestershire County Council's asset management plan and bridge improvement programme.
* Lincoln (Highways Engineering) – Support delivery of highway schemes from concept to completion, including supervision of construction.
* Cardiff – Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) – Structures and Civil Infrastructure Engineering – Focus on inspections of infrastructure, preliminary design calculations and option studies.
* Exeter (Highways and Structures Engineering) – Highways design and consultancy services for Local Authority clients in the Southwest; emphasis on active travel, mobility and delivery of improvements for local communities.
* Norfolk (Highways and Structures Engineering) – Planning, design development, site assessments and structural maintenance schemes with opportunities to contribute to strategic transport planning.
Graduate Development Programme
Our two-year Graduate Development programme supports personal and professional development through blended learning, mentoring, networking opportunities and on-the-job experience. We encourage progression towards chartered status with bodies such as ICE and IStructE.
What we will be looking for you to demonstrate
You should have graduated with at least a 2:1 in a master’s or bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject. You should be able to demonstrate a passion for consulting and engineering, an enthusiasm for the built environment, and a drive to solve problems. You should be prepared to start in April or September 2026.
