Research Associate - Weed Control Research Biology Team (1 year - contract)

What You'll Do:
As a Research Associate, you will be at the forefront of our herbicide research projects, supporting the Primary Profile Screening (PPS) platform. Your responsibilities will include:
* Spraying, maintaining, and assessing plants in the glasshouse to ensure the delivery of timely, high-quality biological data.
* Conducting herbicide bioassays using both established and novel screening methods.
* Maintaining plants under glasshouse conditions and disposing of plant materials post-testing.
* Accurately assessing plants for herbicidal symptoms and activity, entering results into our relevant databases.
* Collaborating with the PPS screening operations team, both independently and as a team player.
* Keeping meticulous records and ensuring databases are up-to-date.
* Identifying and reporting any issues or non-conformities that arise during your work.
* Training others in daily tasks and actively contributing to team efficiency and improvement.
1. What We're Looking For:
To thrive in this role, you will need:
* A bachelor's degree in a related field such as Biology or Environmental Science.
* A general understanding of plant biology, preferably with insights into weed control and agronomy.
* Entry-level knowledge of laboratory techniques and proficiency in Microsoft Office programmes.
* Strong analytical, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
* Attention to detail, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Agility in learning new tasks and the ability to manage your time effectively.
