The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Veterinarian to join our team at the Ipswich Community Veterinary Clinic. In this pivotal role, you will deliver high-quality veterinary care while supporting, supervising, and mentoring veterinarians and veterinary students. You will also play a key role in building capability across the team, assisting with client care, and ensuring our clinics continue to provide compassionate, affordable services to the community.

This position will suit an experienced veterinarian who thrives in a collaborative environment, values mentoring and development, and is committed to advancing both animal welfare and veterinary standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide high-quality veterinary care and surgery.
* Mentor and support graduate and associate veterinarians.
* Supervise and train veterinary students.
* Assist with client concerns and provide professional advice.
* Support workload management and patient triage.
* Oversee controlled drug compliance and reporting.
* Promote infection control, clinic hygiene, and safety.
* Contribute to team development and continuous improvement.

Essential Qualifications And Experience

* Bachelor of Veterinary Science (or equivalent) and current registration with the Queensland Veterinary Surgeons Board.
* Radiation Use Licence and Authorised Implanter Number (AIN).
* Minimum of 5 years’ experience in small animal practice.

* Strong clinical knowledge and diagnostic skills across general practice and surgery.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage clients and colleagues with empathy and clarity.
* Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy clinic environment.
* Collaborative and adaptable, with a calm and professional manner under pressure.
