BAE Systems – Higher Apprentice Test Engineer
Location: Cowes (Isle of Wight). The first 3 months will be spent in initial engineering, health and safety training at the Skills Development Centre in Portsmouth Naval Base. On successful completion, you will transfer to our manufacturing site in Cowes where you will develop skills to undertake the role of a Test Engineer.
Salary: Starting from £22,500 with annual progression through the scheme duration.
What You’ll Be Doing
* You will gain valuable experience in electrical, mechanical and electronic manufacturing engineering environments.
* Test Engineers utilise engineering drawings, data and documentation to undertake the measurement, diagnostics & verification of technical performance on a wide range of electrical and electronic components.
Qualifications you will receive
* Level 4 Apprenticeship Certificate (Engineering Manufacturing Technician Apprenticeship Standard)
* Higher National Certificate in Engineering

Qualification Requirements
* 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grades 9-4/A*-C, including Maths & English & a Science/Technical Subject, and one of the following:
* 3 A-levels (or equivalent) at grade C or above; one subject must be Maths and one subject must be Engineering or a Science/Technical subject.
* OR an equivalent level 3 vocational qualification (must be a STEM‑related subject that aligns to the scheme/area you are applying for and worth a minimum of 96 UCAS points).
