Overview
General Practitioners - Adhoc Shifts across prisons in the North of England. Location: Various prison sites across the North of England. Type: Adhoc / Locum Shifts. Belmont Recruitment is currently looking to speak with experienced General Practitioners who are interested in Adhoc opportunities within prison settings across the North of England.
Responsibilities
* Delivering comprehensive primary care services to a varied patient population
* Providing clinical assessment, diagnosis, and effective treatment planning
* Managing both acute presentations and long-term conditions
* Running clinics covering chronic disease management, acute care, and health screenings
* Working collaboratively with mental health, substance misuse, and nursing teams
* Supporting multi-disciplinary team (MDT) meetings to enhance continuity of care and risk management
* Contributing to clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
* Promoting health education, safeguarding, and preventative care within the prison setting
Qualifications
* Fully qualified General Practitioner (MBChB or MBBS)
* Current registration with the GMC
* Flexibility and adaptability to work across different prison sites
* Strong communication, clinical, and decision-making skills
* Previous experience in secure environments (desirable but not essential)
* Prison vetting clearance is required
