The Guy Chester Centre (GCC) is part of the Methodist Church and manages the North Bank Estate in Muswell Hill, including Chester House – a 158-bed student residence providing affordable, supportive accommodation for young people.
About the Role
We are seeking a part-time Senior Administrator (HR & Governance) to provide dedicated support to the Centre Director and accommodations team. This role will focus on HR processes, governance requirements, and contractor management, ensuring that our staff and operations run smoothly and in line with legal and policy requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* HR Support
· Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
· Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and relevant employment legislation.
· Draft, review and update HR and governance policies and procedures.
· Liaise with HR legal advisors regarding contracts and employment issues.
· Support the Centre Director with staff management processes (e.g. recruitment, induction, probation, annual leave and absence monitoring).
· Assist in employee relations matters, handling staff queries and supporting informal grievance resolution.
Governance Support
· Assist with governance documentation and reporting for trustees/committees.
· Maintain up-to-date policies and compliance records (e.g. safeguarding, health & safety).
· Prepare confidential papers, reports, and records for the Centre Director.
Contractor Management
· Source, assess, and liaise with contractors and service providers.
· Obtain and compare quotations, ensuring value for money.
· Prepare and administer contractor agreements.
· Create and maintain a database of approved contractors and key compliance information.
General Administrative Support
· Provide confidential administrative support to the Centre Director.
· Provide occasional database support to the accommodation team.
· Support the preparation of reports, correspondence, and records.
What We Offer
* Salary: £36,000 FTE per annum (pro rata for 14 hours per week) plus pension contributions.
